Guiding Eyes for the Blind is an organization that changes lives - one pup at a time. My wife Linda and I are volunteer puppy raisers. We raise the pups for some 14-16 months, exposing them to the world and many of the situations they will have to handle as a guide dog. At that time, they move on to professional Guiding Eyes trainers. If the pups show they can handle the responsibility of guiding a visually impaired person, they are carefully matched with a partner. There is no cost to the recipient. Even with volunteers like Linda and myself, each guide dog represents a $50,000 expense to Guiding Eyes.
However, these amazing pups are worth the effort and expense. As one first time recipient of a guide dog recently told me, "My stick found obstacles, my dog takes me around them!"
Please consider making a donation to support our Wag-a-Thon effort, a month-long virtual marathon I am participating in with my dogs throughout May. Together we will complete an entire marathon all while raising funds and creating awareness for this life changing ministry.
Fabio, Raisin, Duncan, Carl, Sawyer and Nikita (pups we have raised), join Linda and me in thanking you!

P.S. Below is a picture of Carl from 3 years ago - He is currently a working guide dog!
