I hope you are doing well. During the month of September 2025, Constance and Lady and I with friends and family are going to walk a minimum of 26.2 cumulative miles. I am participating in Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s annual WAGATHON which raises funds to help provide guide dogs for free to individuals with vision loss. Although we are not raising a puppy right now, we continue to puppy sit (Juliet and Endora so far this year) and help at training classes and outings. Both dogs are great ambassadors with good manners, sunny dispositions, and eager to try new experiences. Lady was cast as Rufus in Legally Blond the Musical and now helps our granddaughter remain standing as she starts walking. Constance is always up for a cuddle or a car outing to the dog park and wade in the stream. Someday she may learn to swim like a lab. Pack walks with our puppies with other raisers and sitters and friends and families are a blast and a good way for all to stay in shape. It's fun sharing our journey with Guiding Eyes for the Blind with others through our dogs.
Guiding Eyes for the Blind has over 65 years of experience training guide dogs for an incredible life of service and companionship. It takes up to three years and costs approximately $50,000 to breed, raise, and train a dog for a person who is blind.
With the help of more than 1,700 volunteers and professional staff, Guiding Eyes has graduated more than 8,000 guide dog teams that provide life-changing independence, freedom and confidence for people to experience all of life’s adventures - no matter how big or small. I am excited to help raise funds for this life changing mission!
My goal is to raise $500 by September 30th. I hope you will consider making a donation to my fundraising page: https://give.guidingeyes.org/wagathon-2025/SoniaSriConstanceLadyWagAThon.
Any gift will be appreciated and will help more people with vision loss lead safer, more active lives through their partnerships with Guiding Eyes dogs.
Thank you for your consideration and support,
Sonia Kragh
