Welcome to my WAGATHON page!

The Wagathon is a cumulative marathon that I'm completing throughout the month of September. My goal is to hit 26.2 miles by September 30th – all while raising critical funds to support Guiding Eyes for the Blind. This is one of our biggest yearly fundraisers, and I'm excited to once again participate.
I've been a volunteer for Guiding Eyes since 2004 and have had the pleasure of raising 15 dogs. I'm currently raising a yellow Lab named Beau. This organization depends on volunteers, like me, to raise a puppy from 8 weeks to 16 months. During this time, our goal is to lay a strong foundation, raising a well-socialized & confident puppy who is ready to take on the world as a future guide dog. The dog's next step is to complete several months of professional training to learn the many skills of a guide dog.
It's estimated each guide dog is worth over $50,000. The best part? Each dog is placed FREE of charge to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
A Guiding Eyes dog means freedom, confidence, safety, and the opportunity to experience all of life's adventures - big and small. Together, these dogs are paired with just the right individuals whose lifestyle best matches each other.
Thank you for considering being a part of this mission that's very close to my heart!
