Welcome to my Wag-a-Thon page!

Throughout the month of May I will be participating in the Guiding Eyes for the Blind Wag-a-Thon. I will be walking a total of 26.2 miles. I could use some sponsors to help me reach my goal of a donation of $1,000.00 to give to Guiding Eyes. As a lot of you know I use to foster the guide dog puppies. I now volunteer at an animal shelter in California where I work with a group called Mutt Manners. We train the dogs how to walk on a leash and all the basic commands so that they become more adoptable. I would like to combine these two wonderful organizations by using a shelter dog to be my partner for this month long event. One dog on the West Coast helping another dog on the East Coast.

My first walking partner, Sammi, was adopted last week. I wish her a happy, loving home. I have chosen Toby as my new walking partner. He is a Lab/Shepard mix who is 10 years old but still has the energy of a pup. I will be posting pictures of our walks together for this event. My goal is for Toby to find his forever home before the end of the Wag -a-Thon.

Guiding Eyes for the Blind changes lives by connecting amazing people with extraordinary dogs. For individuals who are blind or visually impaired, a Guiding Eyes dog means freedom, confidence, and the opportunity to experience all of life's adventures - big and small. From Home Training to Special Needs to Running Guides and more, Guiding Eyes's pioneering programs are individualized to each student. Together, these dogs are paired with just the right student - and both their lives are forever changed.

I hope all of you enjoy watching our journey together. BTW the picture is Toby and I discussing our walks together.

With much gratitude ~
