During the month of September, I'm participating in the Guiding Eyes Wag-A-Thon. It's a cumulative marathon with the goal to hit 26.2 miles by September 30 – all while raising critical funds to support Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s mission to provide guide dogs to people with vision loss. It’s an opportunity for people and dogs alike to stay active and do good.

Since 1999, my family and I have been volunteer puppy raisers for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. In those years, we've been privileged to raise 21 puppies. Being a puppy raiser is a journey of patience, consistency, and love. It's a yearlong volunteer commitment where an 8-week-old puppy comes into my arms, and I have the opportunity to help it become a guide dog. No matter how many late nights and early mornings, rainy potty breaks, and puppy moments, it has given me so much more than I could ever give. Over the years, I have walked countless miles beside my Guiding Eyes puppies, and it has taught me life lessons I will never forget.

I'll be walking in the Wag-A-Thon marathon with Phoenix (5 months old) who I'm currently raising. Each guide dog is worth approximately $50,000, and every month, approximately 12 guide dogs graduate, given COMPLETELY free of charge. Please consider making a donation of any size to support this incredible organization. I am ready to walk to help raise awareness and support for this incredible organization.

Thank you for your support!
