Guiding Eyes for the Blind is an organization that changes lives - one pup at a time. Through Guiding Eyes for the Blind I was lucky to get to know Murray Helem, who was matched with the first Guiding Eyes puppy we raised, Kimba. Murray was matched with his first guide dog, Larissa, from Guiding Eyes in 2012. When Larissa was ready to retire, Murray returned for his second dog and was matched with Kimba in March of 2020. The perfect pair returned home to the farm where they spent their time together with Larissa, the cats, and all the other animals on the farm! Unfortunately Murray passed away in March of 2023 after a battle with cancer. We were devastated to hear of his passing and have decided to start this fundraiser in his honor, with an ultimate goal of naming a Guiding Eyes puppy to change another life like Murray’s.
