Cindy Lou Altman
My name is Cindy Lou and am legally blind due to a genetic degenerative eye disease. I decided to live every day and do everything I can to enjoy life. I have kayaked with a pod of Orca Whales, swam in the Florida Keys with sharks, barracuda, and sea turtles. I've also snorkeled in Grand Cayman, skied in Vermont and hiked across a lava field in Hawaii - all while legally blind. Next on my my Bucket List is to run a 5K with my Running Guide Jada "My Wings". September 21st is the day! Please help support Jada and I by donating to Guiding Eyes for the Blind who helps so many people achieve their goals everyday!
***UPDATE - The run went GREAT***
We started out at 8:30 on the 21st. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and Jada was up to the challenge. It was a fast course with very long gradual elevation changes. As we only run as fast as Jada wants to, we had a goal of 45 minutes. Sensing my adrenaline, she surged and never looked back, with us crossing the finish line in exactly 37 minutes! What a great day! GEB Guides are the best! Thanks to all who donated!
